Gombe State Polytechnic Rector Dr. Abbas Umar Farouk Praises Governor for Educational Improvements

Dr. Abbas Umar Farouk, Rector of Gombe State Polytechnic Bajoga, commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his efforts in revamping the state's educational system during a live program on Jewel FM Gombe.

The Rector highlighted the governor's support in achieving accreditation for the polytechnic with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and praised him as an "education-friendly governor."

Dr. Farouk also acknowledged the Emir of Funakaye, Alhaji Yakubu Muhammad Kwairanga, and stakeholders in Funakaye local government area for their support.

He outlined his achievements since assuming office, including securing TETFund and Northeast Development Commission projects, and accreditation of courses with NBTE.

The Rector encouraged students to participate in the Skills Acquisition Program, which offers informal training in areas like welding, electrical installation, and customotology.

He emphasized the importance of parents enrolling their children in the polytechnic to acquire skills and become self-reliant.

Dr. Farouk announced preparations for introducing new programs, including petroleum engineering technology, welding and fabrication technology, and health information management.

He urged academic staff to work diligently to reciprocate the government's gestures and encouraged students to focus on their studies to achieve their goals.
