Gombe State University Holds 2025 Annual Ramadan Lecture

Gombe State University successfully hosted its 2025 Annual Ramadan Lecture on Sunday, 16th Ramadan 1446 (16th March 2025), at the University Convocation Square.

The event, themed "Contemporary Challenges Facing Muslim Youths and the Way Forward," featured a lecture by renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, Commandant of Hisbah, Kano State.

Sheikh Daurawa emphasized the importance of young Muslims remaining steadfast in their faith, upholding obedience to Allah and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), respecting their parents, and contributing positively to their communities. He also highlighted the dangers of moral decay, peer pressure, and societal distractions, offering practical, faith-based solutions to help young Muslims navigate these challenges.

The event was attended by the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Gombe State University, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, alongside other principal officers, esteemed guests, academic and non-academic staff, students, and members of the university community. Professor Yauta commended the Muslim Ummah of the university for organizing the lecture, stressing its importance in fostering moral discipline and societal development.

 

The 2025 Annual Ramadan Lecture was widely applauded as a commendable step towards addressing the challenges faced by young Muslims today.
