Gombe State University Senate Approves Academic Calendar for 2025/2026 Undergraduate Session

The Senate of Gombe State University (GSU) has officially approved the academic calendar for the 2025/2026 undergraduate session. The decision was reached during the Senate's 112th Regular Meeting held on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

According to a special bulletin released by the Public Relations Office, the session is structured into two semesters with defined periods for registration, lectures, and examinations.

First Semester Schedule

The first semester officially commences with the opening of the registration portal for both fresh and returning students.

Registration: Monday, Feb 2 – Saturday, Feb 28, 2026

Lectures (Phase I): Monday, March 2 – Saturday, March 14, 2026

Mid-Semester Break: Monday, March 16 – Saturday, March 21, 2026

Lectures (Phase II): Monday, March 23 – Saturday, June 6, 2026

Examinations: Monday, June 8 – Saturday, June 27, 2026

Semester Break: Monday, June 29 – Saturday, July 4, 2026

The university will utilize the following weeks in July and August for result compilation and board approvals.

Second Semester Schedule

Students are expected to resume for the second semester on Sunday, July 5, 2026.

Lectures (Phase I): Monday, July 6 – Saturday, Aug 29, 2026

Mid-Semester Break: Monday, Aug 31 – Saturday, Sept 5, 2026

Marking & Results: Monday, Nov 2 – Saturday, Nov 21, 2026

The session is scheduled to officially conclude with the end-of-session break starting from Monday, December 14, 2026, to January 14, 2027.

The University Management has directed all students to adhere strictly to the dates provided in the official calendar. The bulletin also noted that all public holidays will be observed as announced by the government.
