Gombe State University Students Embark on Community Service Initiative, Clean Up Campus Gate

In a demonstration of volunteerism and civic responsibility, the Student Community Service Club of Gombe State University (GSU) conducted a cleanup exercise at the university's second gate on March 6, 2025.

 

The students, led by the club's president, Mr. Jonathan D. Alewa, removed numerous posters and litter that had marred the entrance, restoring the gate's original beauty. The initiative aimed to promote a culture of cleanliness and responsibility among students, setting a precedent for maintaining a tidy and organized university environment.

Mr. Alewa emphasized the club's commitment to fostering a sense of service among students. "We believe in leading by example and encouraging GSU students to develop a sense of responsibility and service," he stated.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Abdulrasheed Abdulganiy, commended the students' dedication and selflessness. "It is those services that you are not paid for that eventually pay you more in life," he said, praising the club's numerous impactful projects over the past sessions.

 

The Student Community Service Club's initiative has set a high standard for student-led community service projects, demonstrating the positive impact that small acts of service can have on society.
