Gombe Student Emerges Overall Winner at International Female Quranic Recitation Competition in Jordan

Hajara Ibrahim Dan’azumi, a young girl from Gombe State, has achieved a remarkable feat by emerging as the overall best winner at the International Female Quranic Recitation Competition held in the Kingdom of Jordan. Hajara, a 200-level botany student at Gombe State University and a representative of Nigeria at the prestigious event, hails from the Abubakar Siddiq Islamiyya Centre in Gombe.

The competition, known as the Hashemite Jordan International Qur’anic Competition for Females, witnessed participants from 39 countries competing in the 60 Hizb with Tajwid category during its 18th edition held between February 17 and 22, 2024. Hajara Ibrahim distinguished herself by achieving an impressive score of 99.5, securing the coveted title of overall winner.
