Gombe Students and Youth Groups Meet Governor Inuwa, Reject Planned Protest
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, met with student and youth groups on Tuesday, addressing their demands and concerns.

The groups, including the Gombe State Students Association (GOSSA) and the Coalition of Youth Groups, opposed the planned August protest, opting for dialogue and peaceful means of channeling their concerns.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya approved the opening of the scholarship portal and the appointment of aides on students' matters, acknowledging the legitimate concerns and frustrations expressed by the youths. He reassured them of his administration's commitment to their empowerment and urged them to embrace peaceful dialogue and constructive engagement.

The students and youth groups praised the Governor's efforts and pledged to continue serving as ambassadors of peace for Gombe State, declaring that they would not participate in the planned protest.
The meeting was attended by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, lawmakers, the Secretary to the State Government, members of the State Executive Council, the Chief of Staff, Chairmen of Local Government Councils, Heads of Security Agencies, and traditional rulers.
