Governor Otti Mourns the Death of 3 Medical Students of Abia University
Governor Otti lamented the loss of the young medical students, especially at a time when the government was actively revitalizing the education and health sectors of the state.
The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic demise of three medical students from Abia State University, Uturu.The incident occurred last Thursday evening on the Nunya axis of the Enugu Port Harcourt Expressway. The students were en route to their base in Aba after attending the induction ceremony for their senior colleagues at the Uturu main campus.
The Public Relations Officer of the university, Chijioke Nwogu, confirmed the unfortunate incident.In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Kazie Uko, Governor Otti lamented the loss of the young medical students, especially at a time when the government was actively revitalizing the education and health sectors of the state.

Governor Otti expressed particular anguish as the graduation ceremony attended by the students was the first since the accreditation for the training of doctors was reinstated to the College of Medicine, Abia State University, and the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Aba, after a suspension of over two years under the previous state government.
The Governor dispatched senior government officials to convey condolences and offer support to the families of the five students involved in the accident, including the two survivors.
Extending sympathies to the bereaved families and the authorities of Abia State University, Uturu, Governor Otti invoked prayers for divine comfort and healing amidst the sorrow caused by this tragic incident.
