The Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu recently convened a leadership retreat for its Directors, Heads of Units, Academic Advisers, and committee members, centered on the theme "Leadership, Mindset Change, and Government's Vision for the Institute."

Acting Rector Dr. Emeka Patrick Ejim, in his opening address, invoked Albert Einstein's idea that problems cannot be solved with the same mindset that created them. He urged staff to embrace change, adopt broader perspectives, and avoid leaders who prioritize power over people.

Professor Ed Nwobodo, in his presentation, emphasized that a shift in mindset would lead to enhanced capacity and influence IMT Enugu's standing among Nigerian polytechnics. He encouraged attendees to leverage their roles to meet their responsibilities effectively and align with the Institute's vision, acknowledging that past methods may no longer be adequate.

Dr. Eric Oluoedo highlighted the importance of recognizing individual differences to avoid treating everyone uniformly. He noted that understanding diverse personality traits can improve interactions and responses within the Institute.

The retreat also featured the presentation of awards to the resource persons. Attendees included Professor Ed Nwobodo, Consultant Human Physiology and Chairman of the Governor’s Taskforce on COVID-19 Containment, and Dr. Eric Oluoedo, Member of the ESUT Governing Council and former Commissioner for Agriculture in Enugu State, among other dignitaries.
