Kaduna State Scholarship Board Begins Verification and New Enrolment at FUE Zaria

The Kaduna State Scholarship and Loan Board (KSSLB) has commenced a physical verification and fresh enrolment exercise for eligible Kaduna State students of the Federal University of Education (FUE), Zaria, as part of its local scholarship award programme.

The exercise, which began on Monday, 2 February 2026, is being conducted at the Dr. A. A. Ladan Hall within the university campus. It is aimed at validating earlier scholarship applications while providing an opportunity for new students who were unable to apply previously to register.

Leading the exercise, the Chairman of KSSLB, alongside members of the Board, paid a courtesy visit to the university management, where they were received by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe, representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure. The delegation later proceeded to the venue of the screening exercise.

According to the Board, students who had earlier applied for the scholarship are expected to present themselves for physical verification, while prospective beneficiaries are required to attend with relevant academic and personal documents for fresh enrolment.

The Chairman was accompanied by key officials of the Board, including the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Ephraim B. Iliyasu; the Director of Administration and Finance, Umar Yusuf Maiwada; the Legal and Administrative Adviser, Fatima Lawal Soba; and the Desk Officer, Linkages, Sunday Blessing Sharon. Representatives of the National Association of Kaduna State Students (NAKASS) were also in attendance.

At the institutional level, the exercise is being coordinated by the Desk Officer of the Scholarship Unit, FUE Zaria, Malam Bashir Abdullahi BawanAllah, with support from members of the Kaduna State Students’ Union (KADSSU).

The ongoing exercise underscores the commitment of the Kaduna State Government to improving access to education and ensuring transparency in the exercise.
