Kaduna State University Hosts Industrial Talk on Supply Chain Management's Role in National Economy

The Department of Procurement and Supply Chain Management and Centre for Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Kaduna State University (KASU), in partnership with the Kuhne Foundation, successfully hosted a two-day Industrial Talk 2.0.

The event, themed "The Role of Supply Chain in Building National Economy," took place on August 28-29, 2024, at the university's 500-seater Pharmacy Hall.

Industry experts and academics gathered to discuss the critical role of Supply Chain Management (SCM) in strengthening the national economy. Mr. Stephen Akut from the Kuhne Foundation emphasized the significance of SCM and highlighted KASU's pioneering collaboration with the foundation, making it the first university in Nigeria to offer degree programs in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Procurement Management.

Students shared their Industrial Training experiences, and a panel discussion featured industry experts exploring SCM's impact on national development. Awards were presented to students for outstanding quiz performances and research endeavors.

The event was well-attended by notable participants, including university officials, industry captains, and students. In his closing remarks, Dr. Nuraddeen Usman Miko, Director of the Centre and Head of Department, encouraged students to take advantage of support from the Kuhne Foundation and urged industry leaders to provide more opportunities for research and practical experiences.
