Ajayi Crowther University Celebrates UI Staff for Enhancing University's Image
The management of Ajayi Crowther University has commended the Chief Information Officer for his positive contributions to the University during his one-year sabbatical leave.

The management of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, has lauded Mr. Sunday Saanu, the Chief Information Officer of the University of Ibadan (UI), for his significant contributions during his one-year sabbatical at the faith-based institution.
At a farewell ceremony held on August 31, 2024, ACU's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Timothy Abiodun Adebayo, praised Saanu for his professional competence, dedication, discipline, and passion.
Prof. Adebayo, who led the tributes, recounted his efforts to bring Saanu to ACU, highlighting Saanu's impressive performance at UI. "Saanu has not disappointed; he has contributed immensely to the development of ACU," Adebayo stated. He recalled how he first noticed Saanu's writing in various media and sought support from former UI VC, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, and Chief Wole Olanipekun to bring Saanu to ACU on sabbatical.
Despite initial bureaucratic hurdles, Saanu joined ACU in 2023 and made a lasting impact over the past twelve months. Prof. Adebayo noted that Saanu's writing skills and command of the English language had garnered admiration from friends worldwide. He also credited Saanu with playing a crucial role during a crisis at ACU, suggesting effective communication strategies that helped resolve the situation.
Dr. Bosede Adebimpe Ajiboye, the University's Librarian, echoed the VC's sentiments, sharing her admiration for Saanu's writings even before joining ACU. She emphasized that Saanu's work is compelling and must be read to the end.
The ceremony underscored the high regard in which Mr. Sunday Saanu is held at Ajayi Crowther University, celebrating his invaluable contributions and lasting legacy. The university also gave him a plaque of meritorious contributions to the institution.
