Kano State Students Appeal to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for Financial Support

The National Association of Kano State Students (NAKSS) at Bayero University Kano has written an open letter to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, urging him to address the financial challenges faced by local students.

The students appreciated the governor's previous intervention, which included paying over N700 million in registration fees for more than 7,000 students. However, they noted that the current session has become even more critical, with many students dropping out due to their inability to afford the increased registration fees amidst harsh economic realities.

The students requested the governor to introduce a scholarship program or a simple loan scheme to help them continue their education. They also urged him to prioritize local students, considering his efforts in supporting students abroad.

The students believe in the governor's ability to act swiftly on matters of great importance and requested a reaction within 48 hours to address the situation.
