Kashim Ibrahim University Partners with BICTDA for Academic Staff Capacity-Building Workshop
Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU), in collaboration with the Borno State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (BICTDA), has commenced a two-day capacity-building workshop for academic staff aimed at enhancing teaching, research, and academic administration through the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital technologies.
Declaring the workshop open on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babagana Gutti, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Services), Professor Shuibu Garba Ngulde, urged participants to actively engage in the training and utilize the knowledge gained to improve teaching and learning outcomes within the University. He noted that such initiatives would strengthen the institution's academic standing and increase its visibility and recognition globally.
Professor Ngulde explained that the workshop provides a valuable platform for participants to explore the practical applications, opportunities, and challenges of Artificial Intelligence in higher education, as well as the role of digital transformation in advancing university operations.

He emphasized the University's commitment to leveraging AI-driven tools to enhance research data analysis, improve classroom instruction, and streamline administrative processes.
In his remarks, the Executive Secretary of BICTDA, Engr. Mohammed Ahmed Kabiru Wanori, represented by Professor Mustapha Tijjani Bashir, underscored the importance of equipping higher institutions with modern digital frameworks to drive innovation and regional development.
He reaffirmed the Agency's commitment to promoting technological advancement and the adoption of Artificial Intelligence across Borno State.
The workshop brought together academic staff from various faculties and departments, providing them with the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge and skills necessary for integrating emerging technologies into teaching, research, and academic administration.
