KHAIRUN Hosts National Qur’anic Qira’at Competition Honouring Sheikh Ali Al-Hudhayfi

Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN), Kano, has hosted the National Qur’anic Qira’at Competition organised in honour of Sheikh Ali Al-Hudhayfi, the renowned Qur’anic reciter and Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
The seven-day Musabaqa brought together Qur’anic reciters and participants from all 36 states of the federation, with KHAIRUN providing accommodation, facilities and the venue for the successful conduct of the prestigious national event.
The hosting of the competition reflects the University’s strong commitment to the promotion of the Qur’an, Qur’anic recitation and the development of individuals dedicated to preserving and propagating the teachings of the Holy Qur’an.
The successful hosting of the programme was made possible through the visionary leadership and support of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, whose commitment to supporting Qur’anic scholars, reciters and activities has continued to strengthen the University’s reputation as an institution that values both academic excellence and Islamic scholarship.
As part of the programme, Sheikh Ali Al-Hudhayfi presented awards of appreciation to the Director, Proprietors’ Office Alhaji Anwar Isyaku Rabiu, and the Vice Chancellor Professor Abdulrashid Garba, in recognition of their support and contributions towards the success of the event.
KHAIRUN’s involvement in Qur’anic activities is deeply rooted in the legacy of its Founder, Late Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu who is himself an Ahlul Qur’an and has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to the preservation, promotion and teaching of the Holy Qur’an. This legacy continues to shape the University’s identity and its commitment to creating an environment where Qur’anic learning and recitation are encouraged and celebrated.
The successful hosting of participants from across the 36 states further demonstrates KHAIRUN’s growing capacity to host major national programmes and its readiness to serve as a centre for academic, religious and community-oriented activities.
