The discussions took place during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the technology and digital services company to the university management.
The delegation was led by the Northwest Regional Coordinator of Galaxy Backbone Limited, Nasiru Suleiman Yakubu, who said the organisation was interested in collaborating with the university to strengthen its digital systems and information management architecture.
According to him, the proposed partnership would cover critical areas including data protection, deployment of innovative software solutions, cybersecurity training, and capacity building for university staff.
He noted that the collaboration would improve operational efficiency and help position the institution in line with global standards in digital security and information management.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Abdulrashid Garba, expressed appreciation to the delegation for the visit and acknowledged the growing importance of cybersecurity and data protection within modern university systems.
He stated that the university management had accepted the proposal in principle, describing the initiative as consistent with the institution’s vision of leveraging technology to improve institutional efficiency and service delivery.

Both parties expressed optimism that the proposed collaboration would lead to a mutually beneficial partnership capable of strengthening the university’s digital transformation agenda and cybersecurity preparedness.
