Kogi AGILE Coordinator Pledges Strategic Partnership with Kogi State Polytechnic

As part of ongoing efforts to foster strategic partnerships within the education sector, the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Prof. Salihu Sanusi Avidime, on Saturday, 14th March 2026, met with the Kogi State Coordinator of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), Alhaji Tijani Oricha Ahmed, to chart a collaborative path towards strengthening educational and empowerment opportunities in the state.

‎During the engagement, Prof. Avidime praised the commendable efforts of the AGILE office under the distinguished leadership of Alhaji Tijani Oricha Ahmed, noting that the initiative has continued to play a vital role in promoting access to education, mentorship, and empowerment for the girl-child. 

He underscored the significance of purposeful leadership and the responsibility of public officers to build lasting legacies through impactful service in their respective capacities.

‎The Rector also expressed the institution's willingness to explore opportunities associated with the AGILE programme, particularly in areas that support mentorship, empowerment, and developmental opportunities for young girls.

In his words, such collaboration would further expand the benefits of the initiative and contribute meaningfully to human capital development in the state.

‎In his remarks, the State Coordinator of AGILE, Alhaji Tijani Oricha Ahmed, congratulated Prof. Avidime on his appointment as Rector, describing it as a well-deserved recognition for his vast scholarly experience and administrative capacity, owed most importantly to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo's acumen of selecting the best heads. 

‎He observed further that the overwhelming goodwill that followed the appointment reflected the high expectations placed on his administration, thus encouraging him to build on the existing achievements of the institution.

‎Speaking on potential collaboration, Alhaji Ahmed explained that the AGILE initiative operates through several key interventions, including mentorship programmes, construction and renovation of educational facilities, as well as empowerment schemes such as conditional cash transfers designed to support adolescent girls in pursuing their education.

‎He concluded by offering prayers for the success of Prof. Avidime’s tenure as Rector and expressed confidence that a strong partnership between AGILE and Kogi State Polytechnic would further enhance educational opportunities and empowerment for young girls across the state.
