Dr. Michael A. Alatise has been appointed as the new bursar of KolaDaisi University (KDU), Ibadan, succeeding Mr. Yinka Babatunde.

The Governing Council of KolaDaisi University (KDU), Ibadan, has announced the appointment of Dr. Michael A. Alatise as the new bursar, effective immediately. Dr. Alatise succeeds Mr. Yinka Babatunde and will serve a term of four years.

Born in December 1963, Dr. Alatise is an alumnus of Renascent High School, Ibadan, where he obtained his OND and HND in Accountancy from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, in 1987 and 1990, respectively. He later earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Ibadan in 2003, and B.Sc. Accounting from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, in 2010. His academic journey continued with M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Accounting from Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, in 2015 and 2018, respectively.

With a diverse professional background spanning the banking industry, public and private sectors, professional practice, and training, Dr. Alatise brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.

Prior to his appointment at KDU, Dr. Alatise served as the Bursar of the University of Ibadan from 2015 to 2020. He also held positions as Director of Budgeting and Financial Planning at the University of Ibadan and served a one-year sabbatical leave at the Bursary Department of the College of Education (Special), Oyo.

Dr. Alatise's academic contributions extend beyond administrative roles, as he has also served as a part-time lecturer at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, and as an Associate Lecturer in Accounting at the University of Ibadan. His research interests include Financial Markets operations, Public Sector Accounting, and Finance, and he has presented scholarly papers at numerous training sessions and workshops while contributing to learned journals and conference proceedings.
