The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has been granted approval by the Lagos State University (LASU) to initiate postgraduate programmes in entrepreneurship.

This significant milestone allows LCCI and LASU to collaborate in offering postgraduate diploma (PGD), masters, and doctorate programmes in entrepreneurship to the public.

The approval signifies a joint effort to provide students with comprehensive insights into entrepreneurship and the essential management functions crucial for successful business ventures. It emphasizes the practical application of management theories to enhance students' entrepreneurial skills.

The partnership between LCCI and LASU was formalized in August 2022 through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration aims to develop programmes in entrepreneurial education and other beneficial areas, with a primary objective of fostering the growth of a vibrant small and medium enterprise (SME) sector.

Building on this foundation, LCCI commenced classes for the diploma in entrepreneurship programme in May 2023. The pioneer students are now advancing into their second and final year of study.

The business education services and training unit of LCCI currently offers training, coaching, and mentorship programmes to SMEs, thereby assisting budding entrepreneurs across the country.

Admission into the 2023/2024 diploma in entrepreneurship programme is still ongoing, while the postgraduate programme is scheduled to commence on Friday, May 3, 2024.

Students enrolled in the postgraduate programme will benefit from entrepreneurship mentoring provided by successful entrepreneurs affiliated with LCCI. Additionally, they will have access to various resources offered by LCCI, including the opportunity to participate in business exhibitions such as the annual LCCI Lagos International Trade Fair (LITF) at no cost.

The programme's curriculum includes a blend of classroom training, practical entrepreneurial skills acquisition, business counselling, mentoring sessions, business tours, weekend hybrid classes, dedicated lecturers, and access to a user-friendly learning management system (LMS).
