Founder of NYSC, General Gowon, Joins Corps Members at Plateau State Unity Christmas Carols and Praise Festival

In a grand and reverent celebration, General Dr. Yakubu Gowon, GCFR, the founder of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), met with Corps Members during the Plateau State Unity Christmas Carols and Praise Festival. The event, filled with festive aesthetics and solemn praise to God, was attended by notable figures, including the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Bar. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
The symbolic welcome took place at the Ten Commandments Prayer Altar in Doi, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State. The occasion was a significant gathering, drawing prominent individuals from both Plateau State and across the nation.
The Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Y. D. Ahmed, was represented by the State Coordinator of NYSC Plateau, Mr. Jonathan I. Yavala. He welcomed General Gowon to the festival alongside Corps Members, who formed a Quarter Guard for the distinguished guest. The Man "O" War Special Squad also played a key role in the ceremony.
This unique festival marked the first of its kind and featured a variety of activities, including song ministrations by an interdenominational choir, performances by gospel artists, Christmas carols, and a red carpet event. The festival’s 9th Lesson added a reflective touch to the festive atmosphere.
