The Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), has issued a notice to students experiencing payment verification issues on the new COOU Portal through the mobile application.
In an internal memo dated August 12, 2026, the Directorate advised students who have made payments through the new portal but are yet to have their payments verified or reversed to take the following steps to resolve the issue.
-
Check the status of the payment on Credo by visiting https://details.credocentral.com and providing the payment reference number from the payment history on the COOU mobile app. The reference number usually begins with “UG”. Students should then click on “View Transactions” to display the payment details and status. If the status shows “pending”, they should proceed to the next step.
-
Attempt to verify the payment directly on the Credo Central Gateway by visiting https://pay.credocentral.com and providing the Payment Reference Number from the payment history on the mobile app before clicking on “Proceed”. If the payment process was successfully completed, the system will automatically verify the payment. If the payment remains pending, students should proceed to the next step.
-
Students whose payment status remains “pending” after following the second step should immediately send an email to the Credo Support Team at cic@etranzact.com. The email should contain the following information:
- Full name
- Name of the fee paid
- Amount paid
- Date of payment
- Providus or Etranzact account to which the payment was made
- Attachment of the transfer receipt of the payment

Students who submit an email to the support team are advised to continue checking their email for responses and promptly provide any additional information that may be requested.
-
For further information, students can visit the ICT Unit on their campus or contact the COOU Support Team directly through the support feature on the mobile application.
-
The Directorate also reminded students that all official communications relating to the mobile application must be conducted using their school email address registered on the new COOU Portal.
