Governor Mutfwang Urges NYSC Corps Members to Focus on Course Content and Adhere to Bye-Laws
He emphasized the importance of the course content in shaping the Corps Members' success during their one-year mandatory national service.
The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Bar. Manassah Caleb Mutfwang, has urged the 2024 Batch "C" Stream I Corps Members to pay special attention to their Orientation course content and adhere to the NYSC scheme’s bye-laws.
Governor Mutfwang made the call during the Swearing-in Ceremony of the 2024 Batch "C" Stream I Corps Members at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, WAYE Foundation, Doi-Du, Jos South LGA of Plateau State. He emphasized the importance of the course content in shaping the Corps Members' success during their one-year mandatory national service.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Alhaji Nuhu Garba Gimba, the Governor assured the Corps Members that their security, welfare, and overall well-being are a top priority for his administration. He also pledged to create an enabling environment for the NYSC scheme to thrive in the state.
The Governor further highlighted the privilege of serving in Plateau State, known for its rich tourism industry, and encouraged the Corps Members to enjoy the hospitality of the state’s people. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing avenues for their growth and success during the service year.
The Chief Judge of Plateau State, represented by Justice S. D. Samchi, administered the Oath of Allegiance to the Corps Members, urging them to pledge their loyalty to Nigeria and uphold the noble cause they are called to serve.
In his welcome address, the State Coordinator of the NYSC in Plateau, Mr. Jonathan I. Yavala, commended the state government for its continued support of the NYSC scheme. He encouraged the Corps Members to engage actively in all camp activities, respect camp officials, and follow the camp’s rules and regulations. He also urged them to position themselves for maximum impact throughout the Orientation exercise and their service year.
The ceremony concluded with cultural performances by the NYSC Cultural Troupe and a Tug of War contest by the Man "O" Special Squad, adding a joyful atmosphere to the occasion.
