The Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has expressed profound condolences over the passing of Mr. Layi Olanrewaju, Correspondent for The Sun Newspapers in Kwara State.

Speaking on behalf of the KWASU community, Vice-Chancellor Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh described Mr. Olanrewaju’s death as a significant loss not only to the journalism profession but also to the people of Kwara State and Nigeria at large.

Professor Jimoh highlighted Mr. Olanrewaju’s contributions as a former Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in the state and his dedication to promoting the profile of KWASU. He noted that the late journalist would be remembered for his professionalism, commitment, and service to the community.

The Vice-Chancellor prayed for strength and comfort for the Correspondents’ Chapel, the family, and all loved ones, asking God to grant them fortitude during this period of loss.
