KWASU Research Teams Secure $43,913 TWAS-UNESCO Grant, Over ₦83 Million in National Research Funding
Four research teams from Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, have secured competitive research grants from international and national funding organisations, further strengthening the university's reputation for research excellence.
Four research teams from Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, have secured competitive research grants from international and national funding organisations, further strengthening the university's reputation for research excellence.

At the international level, a research team led by Dr. Bolatito Eunice Olanipekun, the Principal Investigator, received a research grant of $43,913 from TWAS-UNESCO.
At the national level, three KWASU research teams were successful under the 2025 National Research Fund (NRF) grant scheme.
The successful teams and their grants are:
- Dr. Abdulwaheed Musa – ₦37,590,000
- Dr. Kehinde Peter Alabi – ₦25,000,000
- Dr. Khafayat Yetunde Olatinwo – ₦20,435,900
Combined, the three National Research Fund grants amount to ₦83,025,900.
Presenting the award letters to the successful researchers, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, congratulated the recipients, describing their achievement as a testament to the university's commitment to supporting impactful research and innovation.

Professor Jimoh also encouraged the awardees to mentor early-career researchers, stressing the need to build a strong research culture that would continue to attract competitive grants, foster innovation and enhance the university's global visibility.
