Myschoolnews reports the camp repeatef the enigmatic feat recently as the Camp burst into smithereens of fine colours in the soon ending 2023 Batch "B" Stream II Orientation Course.
The Cultural Carnival which was delayed because of the downpour today began late after mid-day.
The Platoons presenting diverse of cultural displays did not fail as they imported varieties of Nigerian cultural displays into Camp.
At the end of the Cultural Carnival which was also a competition, Platoon 6 stole the show after presenting Argungun festival, while Platoon 1 came second representing the Bini Culture after a fine and mind blowing presentation.
Platoon 10 came third with their Fisherman dance from Rivers and Bayelsa States.
Impressed by the ingenuity of corps members in the representation of the cultures, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties commended the corps members for an excellent display, stating that they are well equipped to do well for themselves as nothing can stop them with the level of their creativity. He urged them to go out, taking on the future with courage.
As a token to commend them, donating a sum of #100,000 to be shared among the 10 Platoons on Camp, he further donated another sum of #250,000 on behalf of the Lagos State Government, to be shared to the Platoons for their brilliance stating that the judges will encounter a tough time selecting the winners.
Meanwhile, the winning Platoon, won a sum of #50,000, while the second and third won #30,000 and #20,000 respectively, in addition to what was initially donated.
Earlier, while declaring the competition open, State Coordinator NYSC Lagos, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa congratulated the corps members for almost seeing the Course to an end. Commending their resilience since the camp began, she acknowledged their contributions to the Cultural Carnival, bringing to fore that the essence of the event which togetherness.
