Lagos State Government Launches ‘Ounje Eko’ Food Discount Initiative at Universities

The Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has launched the “Ounje Eko” food discount initiative at the Lagos State University of Education, Oto/Ijanikin main campus, among other selected universities in Lagos State.

Lagos State Government Launches ‘Ounje Eko’ Food Discount Initiative at Universities

The Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has launched the “Ounje Eko” food discount initiative at the Lagos State University of Education, Oto/Ijanikin main campus, among other selected universities in Lagos State. The program commenced on Friday, September 6, 2024.

The Friday market scheme will operate at the Directorate of Degree Programmes (DDP hall) open space, opposite the institution’s Sports Complex, every Friday for eight weeks, from September 6 to October 25, 2024. The initiative aims to provide affordable food to members of the university community and residents of the host communities, offering a 25% discount on all available food items.

The Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University of Education, Prof. Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, praised the Lagos State Government for this initiative. She encouraged staff members to take full advantage of the opportunity, highlighting that such efforts by the State Government will significantly alleviate the challenges faced by the people during this period.
