Lagos State University International School Celebrates Graduating Class with Pomp and Pageantry

The Lagos State University International School (LASUIS) recently held its 6th Valedictory Service and End-of-Session Party at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of 92 graduating students.

The ceremony was a vibrant celebration of unity, diversity, and academic excellence, featuring inspiring speeches, music and dance performances, awards, and the formal handover of leadership to new student prefects.

Professor Ayodeji O. Badejo, Chairperson of the LASUIS Board, described the moment as "a culmination of years of learning, character building, and community strength." She emphasized that unity is not accidental but intentional and powerful, urging graduates to "carry the LASUIS torch with pride" and recognizing that greatness comes from uniting purposefully in difference.

Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, MCIPM, Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Establishments and Training, delivered a powerful graduation lecture, framing unity in diversity as the defining trait of the Class of 2025. She quoted Maya Angelou, "In diversity there is beauty and there is strength," and Mahatma Gandhi, "Our ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty and the test of our civilization," urging graduates to be "bridge builders" in a divided world .
