Lagos State University has announced the appointment of its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, to the Governing Board of the Nigerian Research and Education Network/Tertiary Education Research Applications and Services Integration.

Lagos State University has announced the appointment of its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, to the Governing Board of the Nigerian Research and Education Network/Tertiary Education Research Applications and Services Integration.

Her nomination was jointly approved by the Federal Ministry of Education and the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy, acting through the National EdTech Strategy Task Force.

Professor Olatunji-Bello was selected in her capacity as Chairman of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of State Universities, a role in which she has demonstrated sustained leadership and a strong track record of driving digital transformation in the higher education sector. According to the communication conveying the appointment, her contributions to institutional reform and education technology placed her among the foremost leaders shaping innovation across Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.

The inauguration of the reconstituted Governing Board is scheduled for Friday, 28 November 2025, in Abuja, during the Mid-term Co-Creation Workshop. The session brings together national stakeholders working to expand research infrastructure, strengthen edtech adoption, and accelerate digital integration in the country’s education ecosystem.
