LASU Aerospace Engineering Students Win Multiple Awards at 2025 FAAN National Aviation Conference

Students of the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Lagos State University (LASU), have recorded remarkable achievements at the 2025 Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) National Aviation Conference (FNAC) held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Students of the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Lagos State University (LASU), have recorded remarkable achievements at the 2025 Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) National Aviation Conference (FNAC) held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Competing against participants from aviation and engineering institutions across the country, the LASU students distinguished themselves in several high-level competitive categories, securing multiple awards and cash prizes. The victories further underscore LASU’s rising stature in aviation and aerospace education in Nigeria.

In the Pilot Aptitude Simulation Challenge, Oluwagbenga Shola emerged overall winner, clinching First Position and a cash prize of ₦500,000.

Similarly, McPaul Ifesinachi A. and Hafsah Abudu secured First Position in the Aircraft Maintenance Skills Contest, also receiving a ₦500,000 cash prize.

In the Innovation Pitch Competition, Chinedu Ikeh and Kehinde Fodunrin, competing as Team Green Jet, placed Third, earning a cash prize of ₦200,000.

LASU also made a strong showing in the Drone Soccer Competition, where Team Liftora finished Third, winning ₦200,000. Members of Team Liftora include Aniyikaye David, Adewale Oluwaferanmi, Thomas Victor, Adebara Abdulsomod, Ugwu Emmanuel, Isah Muhammad Idris, Adegbola Johnbeulah, Oluwafemi Emmanuel, John Goodness Enejo, Oloko Abdul-Kabir, Amaihian Ebenezer, Onwubolu-Ezekiel Joel, and Abegunde Emmanuel.

These outstanding performances reflect the depth of technical training, innovation, and practical exposure within the Department of Aerospace Engineering, as well as Lagos State University’s sustained commitment to producing industry-ready graduates capable of competing on national and global platforms.
