FUL ICT Staff Re-Elected NCS Kogi Chairman, Urged to Uphold Ethics and Professionalism at Exco Inauguration

A staff member of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Directorate of Information and Communication Technology, C.itp Godwin Sani, has been re-elected Chairman of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Kogi State Chapter.

The re-election took place on Saturday, 27 December 2025, while the inauguration and swearing-in of the newly elected officers were conducted virtually on Friday, 2 January 2026, by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Society.

Members of the 8th Executive Council of the NCS Kogi State Chapter inaugurated alongside the Chairman include Abdulkarim Musa Onuja (Vice Chairman), Momohjimoh Tijani (Secretary), Adebayo Moses O. (Financial Secretary), Chris Yahaya (Publicity Secretary), and William Adah (Treasurer). Other officers are Funso Bukola Omolara (Welfare Officer), Samuel Sunday Eneji (Assistant Secretary), Dr. Victoria I. Yemi-Peters (Chairman, Education and Manpower Development), and Famous Emeka Onyema (Chairman, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development).

Addressing the newly inaugurated executives during the ceremony, the National President of the Nigeria Computer Society, Prof. Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu, FNCS, charged them to uphold ethical standards and professionalism in the administration of the affairs of the Kogi State Chapter. He congratulated the executives on their election, urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them, and emphasized the need to position the Chapter for greater impact and relevance. He further assured them of the continuous support of the National Executive Council.

Earlier, the Deputy National President of NCS, Dr. Charles Chijioke Onyeukwu, FNCS, commended the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Dr. Oluwakemi Ayodele, FNCS, for the successful conduct of the election. He described the new appointments as a call to national service and urged the executives to work collectively to make the Kogi State Chapter one of the most vibrant and recognized chapters of the Society nationwide.

Dr. Onyeukwu also emphasized adherence to the founding principles of the Nigeria Computer Society, urging the executives to familiarize themselves with the NCS constitution, chapter by-laws, and code of ethics and professional conduct. He stressed the importance of following established protocols and the Society’s chain of communication for effective governance.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman, C.itp Godwin Sani, expressed gratitude to the national leadership, the electoral committee, and members of the Kogi State Chapter for renewing their confidence in him. He called for collective commitment toward advancing the Chapter and reiterated his vision of repositioning the NCS Kogi State Chapter for enhanced professional relevance and societal impact through the strategic use of technology for empowerment, innovation, and sustainable development.
