LASU, Nigeria French Language Village Deepen Institutional Partnership

The Management of the Nigeria French Language Village (NFLV), Badagry, on Wednesday, 7 January 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, at the University’s Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.

The Management of the Nigeria French Language Village (NFLV), Badagry, on Wednesday, 7 January 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, at the University’s Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.

The meeting took place at the Conference Room, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, 6th Floor, Senate Building, and was led by the Director/Chief Executive Officer of NFLV, Professor Samuel Oladipo Kolawole. He stated that the visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration and enhancing mutual understanding between the two institutions.

Professor Kolawole commended the LASU Management for its continued support, particularly its role in facilitating the promotion of seven NFLV staff members to the professional cadre. He also described Lagos State University as home to one of the best French Departments in Nigeria.

Discussions at the meeting focused on the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between both institutions following the expiration of the previous agreement.

In her response, Professor Olatunji-Bello welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed LASU’s commitment to sustaining and strengthening its partnership with the Nigeria French Language Village. She assured the visitors of the University’s readiness to renew the MoU and expressed confidence that the collaboration would continue to enhance academic development and productivity for both institutions.

The visit concluded with an exchange of gifts between the two institutions.

Members of the NFLV delegation included the Registrar, Ms Ini Nwa; the Bursar, Mr L. O. Ibikunle; the Acting Librarian, Dr A. A. Adejo; and Deputy Registrars Mrs Sessi Fabayi-Agemo and Mrs A. G. Adesho.

LASU officials present were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Toyin Enikuomehin; the Registrar, Mr Emmanuel A. Fanu; the representative of the University Bursar, Mr Jerry Jinadu; the University Librarian, Mrs Omawunmi Makinde; and the Dean, Faculty of Arts, Professor Ayo Ayodele.

Also in attendance were the Director, Directorate of Legal Affairs, Mrs O. O. Boyejo; the Deputy Registrar, Academic Staff Establishment, Mr Abdulhameed Lawal; the Deputy Registrar, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Dr Lateef Sekoni; and the Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, Dr Lateef Salami.
