LAUTECH, NIESV Forge Partnership to Elevate Estate Surveying Professionalism

The Management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) and the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) have pledged to strengthen collaboration aimed at advancing professionalism in Estate Surveying and Valuation across Nigeria.

The agreement was highlighted during the 4th Estate Management Department Lecture, held at the LAUTECH Main Campus Hall, where both Vice-Chancellor Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu and NIESV President and Chairman of Council, Chief Victor Adekunle Alonge, emphasized that professional excellence extends beyond classroom learning.

During a courtesy visit to LAUTECH management, Chief Alonge, also known as Awokose Omoluabi Oodua, called for improved welfare for NIESV members employed by the university and advocated for sponsorship to attend conferences that enhance professional development. He further encouraged Estate Management students to actively participate in NIESV branch meetings, particularly the Oyo State branch, to foster early professional engagement.

Representing the NIESV President, ESV Adekunle Adedoye, Immediate Past Chairman of the Osun State Branch and Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor on Housing Matters, reinforced the call for students’ involvement in professional activities.

Responding to the proposals, Professor Kalilu, through the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategy and Development), Professor Tunde Ogunkunle, commended NIESV as a key partner in nurturing future professionals and reiterated LAUTECH’s commitment to elevating the standards of workforce development, ensuring due process is followed in all initiatives.

The collaboration signals a forward-looking approach to bridging academic training with real-world professional competence in Estate Surveying and Valuation.
