The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) has underscored the critical role of professional ethics, discipline, and continuous learning in sustaining excellence in Estate Surveying and Valuation.

The message was delivered during the 4th Lecture of the Department of Estate Management at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso. Representing NIESV President, Dr. (Chief) Victor Adekunle Alonge, ESV (Prince) Kunle Adedoye, Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor, advised practitioners and students to integrate social awareness into their professional practice and avoid religious intolerance to achieve career goals.

Chief Alonge, a past Chairman of the NIESV Osun Chapter, further encouraged students to seek mentorship from practicing professionals to enhance career development and practical understanding of the profession.

In her welcome address, Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Professor Margaret Areo, lauded the guests and exhorted students to emulate the achievements of their predecessors in Estate Surveying and Valuation. She commended the Head and staff of the Department for their dedication and urged other departments to model the Department of Estate Management’s commitment to excellence. Professor Areo concluded her remarks with prayers for all participants and guests.

Vice-Chancellor of LAUTECH, Professor Olatunde Rom-Kalilu, praised NIESV as a reliable partner in nurturing the next generation of professionals. Representing him, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Innovation), Professor Dauda Araromi, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to continuously raising the standard of workforce development.

Other dignitaries in attendance included Professor Bioye Aluko, Dr. Morufu Asani (HOD, Estate Management), and Mr. Adesina Adetona (representing HOD, Building). The event highlighted the importance of ethics, mentorship, and lifelong learning as pillars of professional excellence in Estate Surveying and Valuation.
