FUTA VC Commends NUGA Medalists, Pledges to Deepen Student Experience

The athletes’ exceptional performances earned multiple medals, which were presented to Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji, and subsequently awarded to the winners.
Director of Sport Services, Dr. Alayode Ajibua, acknowledged management’s support for sports development, noting that enhanced athletic programs have positively impacted campus engagement and security. He also commended the Vice-Chancellor for placing FUTA in Zone C, emphasizing that hosting NUGA would be a long-overdue milestone that could bring the games to the university.
In her remarks, Vice-Chancellor Professor Adenike Oladiji expressed pride and gratitude to the athletes, coaches, and officials, highlighting their achievements as a source of institutional pride. She reaffirmed her commitment to deepening student experience through sports, emphasizing opportunities for talent development and student welfare. She also underscored sports as a unifying factor, commending FUTA women for their support and encouraging continued engagement in health and wellness initiatives.

- Adebayo Japhet – Silver, 4x100m male relay
- Ofor Chioma – Silver, 400m female relay
- Ajileye Omotolani – 4x100m female relay
- Oluwafemi Taiwo – Bronze, mixed doubles table tennis
- Oyakhilome David – Gold, chess
- Oni Onileowo Temitola – Silver, judo
These achievements underscore FUTA’s growing prominence in university sports and the institution’s commitment to fostering holistic student development.
