LAUTECH SSANU Inaugurates Women’s Committee to Champion Staff Welfare

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), LAUTECH Branch, formally inaugurated its Women’s Committee on Thursday, 13th November 2025, in a ceremony marked by dignity, focus, and purpose at the Conference Hall of the LAUTECH Health Centre.

The Branch Chairperson, Comrade Fajoye Hamzat Esq., along with members of the Branch Executive Committee, officiated the event, charging the newly constituted committee to bring passion, excellence, and unwavering solidarity to the promotion and defence of female senior staff welfare, while contributing to the growth and influence of SSANU at LAUTECH.

The Committee comprises fifteen accomplished women from various departments of the University and is led by the Branch Women Leader, Comrade (Mrs.) Ojo Olamide of the Registry. Members include Comrades Ojikutu I. K. (Audit), Fagbekun O. S. (Health Centre), Abu B. E. (Health Centre), Makinde A. O. (Registry), Tiamiyu B. O. (Registry), Aworinde O. O. (Registry), Okesola S. O. (Bursary), Dr. Aderele Afolabi (Health Centre), Adeniyi Sikeade (Bursary), Saka Funmi (PPU Works), Engr. Adejuyigbe V.O.A. (Works), Dada E. E. (Audit), Obayemi I. F. (LICT), and Sulaiman Olawunmi (LICT).

Following the inauguration, the committee held its first meeting at the same venue, where members discussed priorities and strategic initiatives for the tenure. In her acceptance remarks, Comrade (Mrs.) Ojo Olamide expressed gratitude for the trust placed in the committee and pledged that they would deliver exemplary service, unify the women of SSANU LAUTECH, and amplify the voice of female senior staff within the union and the University community.

The ceremony celebrated women’s leadership within SSANU LAUTECH, emphasizing collaboration, competence, and commitment to staff welfare.
