In a strategic move to strengthen its postgraduate programmes and enhance institutional capacity, MacPherson University (McU), Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, recently conducted a familiarisation visit to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) to study the operational structure of the University’s Postgraduate School.

The visit, held at FUNAAB’s Postgraduate School, served as a platform for knowledge exchange between the two institutions, with focused discussions on postgraduate administration, quality assurance, and academic development.
Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Gboyega Adebayo, Dean of FUNAAB’s Postgraduate School, described postgraduate management as “taxing, yet rewarding,” emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and benchmarking with successful institutions. He also commended McU’s team for selecting FUNAAB as a model, noting that Dr. Michael Osho, Acting Dean of McU’s College of Postgraduate Studies, is an alumnus of FUNAAB, having obtained all his academic qualifications there—a testament to the University’s excellence in postgraduate education.

Dr. Osho, on behalf of MacPherson University, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and explained that the visit aimed to gain insights into effective postgraduate administration. “We are here to understand the mode of operation and engage in mutual learning that would enable us to identify areas of improvement for our own postgraduate programmes at MacPherson University,” he stated.
Other members of the visiting delegation included Mrs. Olanike Adesida, Secretary of the College of Postgraduate Studies; Dr. Emmanuel Awojeko, Sub-Dean of the Postgraduate School; and Dr. Oyetunji Taiwo, Postgraduate Coordinator for the Accounting and Finance Department, all from MacPherson University.
