MAUTH Yola Mourns Passing of Justice Abubakar Faruk (Rtd), Father of Former CMD

 The management and staff of Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital (MAUTH), Yola, have expressed deep condolences following the transition of Justice Abubakar Faruk (Rtd), who passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the age of 86.

The late jurist was the father of Professor Auwal Muhammad Abubakar, the pioneer Chief Medical Director of MAUTH and a world-renowned paediatric surgeon celebrated for his landmark conjoined twin separations.

In a tribute to the deceased, the current Chief Medical Director, Professor Adamu Girei Bakari, described Justice Faruk as a "custodian of conscience" whose life was defined by incorruptible integrity and empathy. He noted that the loss is felt deeply across the medical and legal fraternities alike.

Justice Faruk, a distinguished elder statesman, was laid to rest on Wednesday in accordance with Islamic rites. He is survived by fifteen children and numerous grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of principled public service and moral leadership.

The MAUTH community has offered prayers for the repose of his soul in Jannatul Firdaus and sought divine strength for the bereaved family during this period of monumental loss.
