McPherson University Celebrates Student’s Return from Prestigious Japanese AI Internship

The McPherson University community officially welcomed back Miss Babatunde Oyindamola Feranmi, a 400-level student, following her successful completion of a high-profile international internship in Japan.

The internship, fully sponsored by the Government of Japan, was facilitated by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Part of the FY2024 Amendment Co-Creation Type Technical Human Resources Exchange Project, the initiative focuses on fostering collaboration with the Global South by empowering highly skilled professionals in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced technology.

Upon her return, Miss Oyindamola formally presented her certificate of completion to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan. She expressed deep appreciation for the university's academic environment, which she credited with providing the competitive edge necessary to excel alongside international peers.

Receiving the certificate, Professor Igbasan lauded Miss Oyindamola for her exceptional performance and for serving as a global ambassador for the institution.

"This achievement is a testament to the rigorous training and mentorship we provide at McPherson University," the Vice-Chancellor stated. "We are immensely proud of your ability to distinguish yourself among thousands of global applicants."

Professor Igbasan further charged the returnee to leverage the advanced skills and knowledge acquired in Japan to mentor her colleagues and contribute to the university’s growing reputation for technological excellence.

This milestone highlights McPherson University's commitment to producing graduates who are not only locally relevant but globally competitive in emerging tech sectors.
