Meet I. B. Zaga: The UDUS Veterinary Student Saving Peers from Poor Grades with Compiled Past Questions
Ibrahim Sahabi Zaga, a 500-level Veterinary Medicine student at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), has become a campus sensation by compiling and distributing past exam questions, helping countless "Danfodites" improve their academic performance.
Popularly known as I. B. Zaga, the Kebbi State indigene is often discussed during continuous assessments (CAs) and exam preparations. According to reports by Vanguard Press, requests for "Zaga’s past questions" are common across various departments, leading a new student to famously ask, "Which lecturer is called Zaga?"
Zaga explained that his motivation is to benefit others and add value to those around him. His initiative began when he formed a study group in his first year. As a proficient typist, he compiled materials and past questions for the group and subsequently shared them widely.
His commitment to using past questions stems from a personal experience during his matriculation year. He focused solely on lecture notes for a Mathematics CA and performed poorly, only to discover afterward that most questions were sourced directly from past exams.
"To absolve himself of the guilt," he switched his strategy: study past questions first. This approach proved highly effective, as many exam questions mirrored those he had solved.
While providing this invaluable academic support, Zaga denied allegations of receiving monetary rewards for his work. He urged students to use his compiled resources as a guide but to always ensure they thoroughly read their official lecture notes, which are updated over time.
