Nabila Ibrahim Makama Emerges Best Graduating Student at MAAUN Maiden Convocation

Nabila Ibrahim Makama has made history as the Best Graduating Student of the Year at the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), graduating with First Class honors in Information Technology. Her achievement was the highlight of the university's historic Maiden Convocation Ceremony, held on Saturday, December 20, 2025. 

Makama’s academic success follows a unique and disciplined path. After secondary school, she deferred university entry for two years to pursue religious milestones: first committing the entire Qur’an to memory within one year, and subsequently spending a second year transcribing the holy text by hand. 

In recognition of her exceptional performance, the university has offered to sponsor her for a Master’s degree (MSc) at any international institution of her choice.
