Nasarawa Govt commends FULafia for hosting agric stakeholders

The Nasarawa State Government has commended the Management of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) for hosting the recently concluded agricultural stakeholders engagement.

The commendation was made by the Nasarawa State Head of Service, Mrs Abigail Waya, during the one-day agricultural programme organised by the Michigan State University, USA, for the benefit of Nasarawa State agricultural stakeholders.

The event was held at the Faculty of Agriculture Mini Auditorium, Permanent Site Campus of the FULafia. 

While thanking the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, for hosting the meeting in the University, the head of service described the University as a strategic partner in the development of Nasarawa State.

Mrs Waya appreciated the Michigan State University for organising the agricultural stakeholders meeting, saying that the engagement was timely and it coincided with the then ongoing Nasarawa Investment Summit 2024.

She said that the objective of the engagement aligned with governor Sule's transformation agenda in agriculture designed to drive agricultural development through partnerships with critical stakeholders such as the Michigan State University.

Paper presentations were made during the meeting by Prof. Duncan Boughton and

The meeting brought together representatives from the Nasarawa State Government, senior academics from the Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK), and Federal University of Lafia, All Farmers Association of Nigeria, Nasarawa State Chapter, Association of Women in Trade and Agriculture and Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities

Other dignitaries at the event included the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment, Barr. Abubakar Mohammed Imam Zanuwa, Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Service, Nasarawa State, Mr Idris Umar,

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, Ramatu Julde, and Hon. Abdullahi Mohammed, Secretary All Farmers Association of Nigeria, Nasarawa State Chapter.
