Ibilola Olagbegi faced the daunting hurdle of failing the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam three times, preventing her from pursuing her desired course of Medicine. Undeterred by her initial setbacks, Ibilola embarked on a seven-year journey to attain a notable degree.
Initially aspiring to become a Medical Doctor, she encountered roadblocks as her JAMB scores fell short of the required cutoff for medical studies. In a testament to her resilience, Ibilola shifted her focus to Nursing and gained admission to the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, Nigeria, to study Physiotherapy. Her journey took another turn when her father encouraged her to retake the JAMB exam.
Determined to make the most of this opportunity, Ibilola reapplied and was admitted to Covenant University, albeit for Information and Communication Engineering instead of Mechanical Engineering. Her unwavering commitment to her dream and a cumulative GPA of 4.33 over a possible 5.00 enabled her to switch her major to Mechanical Engineering.
During her time at Covenant University, Ibilola actively engaged in leadership roles within the Technical Crew and Mechanical Engineering Department, demonstrating her dedication to personal growth and empowering others.
