The Nigerian Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, Delta State, has announced the commencement of admission into its Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The Nigerian Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, Delta State, has announced the commencement of admission into its Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session.

According to a statement issued by the Registrar, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, the JUPEB Programme is designed to prepare qualified candidates for Direct Entry admission into 200-level degree programmes of the university and other partnering institutions.

Dr. Bebenimibo explained that successful candidates would undergo intensive preparatory lectures leading to the JUPEB Advanced Level (A’ Level) examination in three chosen subjects. The programme offers two broad areas of study — Engineering/Science Subjects and Transport and Logistics Subjects.

The available subject combinations include:

  • Engineering/Science: Biology/Geography, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics
  • Transport and Logistics: Economics, Geography, Mathematics

He added that candidates who complete the programme successfully can seek admission into various NMU undergraduate programmes under the faculties of Engineering, Environmental Management, and Transport and Logistics.

  • Faculty of Engineering: Civil, Electrical, Marine, Mechanical, and Petroleum & Gas Engineering
  • Faculty of Environmental Management: Fisheries & Aquaculture, Marine Environment & Pollution, Meteorology & Climate Science, Marine Geology
  • Faculty of Transport & Logistics: Maritime Economics & Finance, Transport & Logistics Management, Nautical Science, Port Management

Admission Requirements:
Applicants must possess at least five O’ Level credit passes in not more than two sittings in subjects such as English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economics, Commerce, Financial Accounting, or Government obtained from WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB.

Method of Application:
Prospective candidates are to visit https://eportal.nmu.edu.ng/applicant/JUPEB to make a non-refundable payment of ₦10,000 only for the application form. After payment, applicants are required to complete the online form, submit it, and print the confirmation slip.

Application opens on Monday, October 13, 2025, and closes on Monday, December 1, 2025. All completed forms and relevant documents must be submitted online before the deadline.
