Nile University of Nigeria has commended Engr. Adekunle Taiwo of the Faculty of Engineering for his exceptional representation of the university and Nigeria at the Asia-Pacific Small Hydropower Conference held in Hangzhou, China.

Engr. Taiwo was the sole academic participant from Nigeria selected for the prestigious international programme. The conference, titled “Small Hydropower Development and Green Industrial Transition for Developing Countries,” was hosted by the National Research Institute for Rural Electrification (NRIRE)/Hangzhou Regional Center for Small Hydro Power in partnership with Huawei Digital Power and the Government of China.
During the event, Engr. Taiwo joined experts and policymakers from across Africa and Asia, participating in advanced lectures, high-level workshops, and site visits to hydropower stations and SHP equipment manufacturing facilities. The programme provided hands-on exposure to China’s green energy-powered industrial zones and technological innovations in renewable energy and rural electrification.
