North-Eastern University Gombe Hosts Successful "Chemistry Futures" Conference

North-Eastern University, Gombe, in collaboration with the Pan Africa Chemistry Network (PACN) of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), hosted a one-day conference themed "Chemistry Futures: Inspiring the Next Generation" on April 8, 2025. The event brought together students, researchers, faculty, and industry professionals to promote interest in chemistry and sustainable innovations for national development.
The conference featured keynote lectures, panel discussions, hands-on workshops, and a networking breakfast for chemists. The program highlighted the significance of chemistry in everyday life and its role in solving real-world challenges.
The Pro-Chancellor of the University, Dr. Sani Jauro, emphasized that chemistry is a nexus for development, considering its significance to human life. He called on chemistry teachers to remodel their teaching methods to encourage young students to develop an interest in the subject.
