Northwest University Kano Reschedules Cultural Carnival

The Students Union Government (SUG) of Northwest University, Kano, has announced a new date for its highly anticipated historic cultural carnival.

The event, originally scheduled for Monday, January 26, 2026, has been rescheduled to Monday, February 2, 2026.

The announcement was made via an official memo signed by the SUG President, Amb. Aboussalam Mahmoud Ahmad, on January 25, 2026.

The adjustment was necessary for two key reasons:

University Management Council Meeting: The ongoing management meetings taking place throughout the week require a calm and orderly academic environment, making the original date unsuitable.

Enhanced Security: The new date provides sufficient time for adequate external security arrangements to ensure the safety of all students, invited guests, and participants.

The SUG expressed sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by the change and appreciated the student body's understanding. The union remains committed to delivering a peaceful, well-organized, and memorable event, which promises to include the first-ever Durbar in the history of the University.
