The National Open University of Nigeria Staff School (NSS), Kaduna, delivered an outstanding performance at the recent 2026 National Children’s Day celebration themed “Children Have Right to Play.
”The state-wide event, hosted at the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) in Kaduna, brought together pupils from 18 schools to advocate for child development through play, cultural preservation, and creative learning.Driving Cognitive and Talent DevelopmentOrganized by Du-Maris Productions, the interactive platform featured an array of activities designed to build soft skills and unlock potential outside the traditional classroom setup.
The NSS Kaduna contingent actively participated across multiple educational segments, including:Cultural Representation: Performance of traditional dances highlighting Kaduna's rich cultural heritage.Creative Arts: Competitive drama presentations and oral storytelling exercises
The Head of Administration at NOUN Staff School, Mrs. Maryam Kida, emphasized that such outward-bound celebrations are vital for pupil growth, helping children discover and specialize in unique talents as they grow.
