NOUN Vice-Chancellor Inaugurates State-of-the-Art NICC Building

The Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Olufemi Peters, has officially inaugurated the newly-completed state-of-the-art building of the NOUN Information and Communication Centre (NICC) at the university's headquarters in Abuja.

The building, which serves as the hub of the e-ticketing system, provides a structured and data-driven method for handling student inquiries through multiple channels, including call centers, emails, in-person interactions, online platforms, and easy flyers.

The NICC is designed to provide prompt and satisfying service delivery to students and stakeholders. By leveraging technology, the center aims to reduce frustration common in distance learning and improve response times to student inquiries. The e-ticketing system, launched in June 2022, has been a game-changer in transforming the university's public image, making it more responsive, student-friendly, and digitally advanced.

Prof. Peters pledged to further improve the NICC's operations, including providing additional workstations, laptops, and training for staff. He also announced plans for a 24/7 multilingual student support system to cater to the diverse needs of NOUN's student population.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by top management officials, staff, and other dignitaries, who praised the Vice-Chancellor's vision and leadership in driving digital transformation at NOUN.
