NSUK Hosts Two-Day Seminar-Workshop on “Tonology – Linguistic Tones” Led by Prof. Dr. Rose-Juliet Anyanwu-Wenzel

The Department of Languages and Linguistics, Faculty of Arts, Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), recently held a two-day seminar-workshop titled “Tonology – Linguistic Tones”.

The event was organised and facilitated by Prof. Dr. Rose-Juliet Anyanwu-Wenzel, an eminent scholar in the field of linguistics.

The seminar-workshop, offered free of charge to academic staff of the department, was designed to deepen participants’ understanding of Tonology, an essential component in linguistic studies and analyses. Prof. Anyanwu-Wenzel shared her extensive expertise, guiding attendees through the principles of tone perception, accurate transcription, and analytical techniques crucial for teaching and supervising students’ research projects, dissertations, and theses.

The workshop concluded with a brief appreciation ceremony in which members of the department, under the auspices of the Faculty of Arts, presented Prof. Anyanwu-Wenzel with a commemorative plaque. The plaque bore the inscription:
