NSUK VC Honoured for Pioneering Waste Management Initiative
The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has received commendation for her proactive leadership in advancing waste management within the University and the wider Keffi community.
The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has received commendation for her proactive leadership in advancing waste management within the University and the wider Keffi community.

The recognition came during a courtesy visit on Thursday, December 12, 2025, by a delegation from the Nasarawa State Waste Management and Sanitation Authority, led by the Director-General, Honourable Muhammad Bello Isa, an NSUK alumnus. The visit celebrated and formally awarded Professor Liman for her notable contributions to effective waste collection and disposal.
Honourable Isa highlighted that the initiative was part of a community engagement exercise led by Dr. Taibat Ibrahim, targeting waste management in Keffi communities including Angwan Lambu, Angwan Yalwa, and Makwalla. He commended NSUK as the only institution in the State whose leadership voluntarily partnered with the Agency to support its statutory mandate. As part of the recognition, one unit of a Smart Toilet will be installed at the University’s Centre for Biotechnology Research.

In her remarks, Professor Liman expressed gratitude for the award and welcomed the prospect of strategic collaboration with the Agency, emphasizing the goal of positioning Nasarawa State as the cleanest state in Nigeria, in line with the vision of Governor Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule.
The visit concluded with the formal presentation of the award to Professor Liman, underscoring her commitment to community service and environmental sustainability.
