NSUK VC Leads Strategic Visit to MLSCN to Advance Medical Laboratory Science Programme

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, recently led a high-powered management delegation on a crucial courtesy visit to the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria as part of efforts to establish a Medical Laboratory Science programme at the University.

 

The visit marks a significant step in the University’s strategic drive to expand its academic offerings in the sciences and contribute meaningfully to addressing the growing demand for quality medical laboratory training in Nigeria. It also reflects NSUK’s commitment to building strong institutional partnerships that support excellence in teaching, research, and professional development.

During the engagement, Professor Liman highlighted the University’s existing strengths in academic infrastructure and human capacity, expressing strong enthusiasm for a collaborative partnership with the Council. She emphasized NSUK’s readiness to align with regulatory standards while advancing resource development, research initiatives, and academic growth in the proposed programme.

 

In his response, the Acting Registrar/CEO of MLSCN, Donald Ibe Ofili, warmly received the delegation and commended the University’s initiative. He reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to supporting institutions in developing high-quality and compliant training programmes. Dr. Ofili further advised the university to formally declare its readiness to commence the programme upon meeting all necessary regulatory requirements, assuring that adherence to established standards would guarantee a smooth and successful take-off.
